another thing that's going on all around the planet is the so called emoticons. i just got from brazil to the usa and here they are to make everybody's lives easier! maybe i should just communicate through them. maybe my life would be easier if i did so. maybe i could use them in my papers for school! =) although this thought seems so absurd now, i wouldn't be surprised if in a near future professors [that grew up using them to talk to their teenager friends in the internet] would see them as an indispensable part in their students' works. after all, communication is very important and things change. in the times of shakespeare who would've guessed that we'd be contracting so many words today because we gotta express ourselves in a more contemporary way? i believe it's a non-stop process. we don't do many things the way our parents did and our kids won't do the exact same things we do now. we all change all the time. in this linguistic case, maybe it happens because we're too bored with language the way it is and we want to innovate it. but instead of learning a foreign language, we'd rather create a whole new one, which can be universal and easy to spread [hello, internet!].

enough of blah, blah, blah and let's go straight to the point, shall we?

*some people are taking this new language seriously and are aware of the future of our society.
